ABOUT THE COURSE
This course is delivered by experts from Trafford College on the UA92 campus in Old Trafford, Manchester and is specifically designed to prepare mature students for university level study.
If you’re a tech-savvy individual who wants to work in the fast-paced world of computing and digital systems but don’t yet meet the entry requirements for higher education, our Access to HE Computing programme will prepare you to continue your studies in Computing and Digital Technologies.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
This is a Level 3 certification approved by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) for adult learners who are returning to study or who left school without the essential qualifications for undergraduate study. You will study a wide range of topics, including programming, network engineering, cyber security and web animation.
HOW WILL YOU LEARN IT?
Our dedicated team of skilled teachers and support staff will provide you with excellent support throughout the course to aid your progress. You will earn a recognised Level 3 Computing diploma, which will help you progress to undergraduate education and future careers in a wide range of fields, including software engineering, game development, IT Support, programming and cyber security.

On successful completion you can continue your learning journey to the next level at UA92 on one of their business or finance and accounting degree courses.
The career opportunities in the Computing and Digital sectors is huge. Virtualisation, cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT) and mobile computing are just a few of the rapidly expanding technology concepts that will open up intriguing and diverse employment paths for you in the future.

Entry Requirements
We usually ask applicants to have achieved GCSE English Language or Maths at grade C or above or level 2 functional skills Maths and English.
The tuition fee for the Access to HE course is £3,022.
You may be eligible for a full fee remission if you are in receipt of certain benefits or earning less than £19,890 per annum (if residing within Greater Manchester).
If you are required to pay for your Access to HE Diploma, you can apply for an Advance Learner Loan to cover the cost. If you progress to university and complete your degree, Student Finance England will ‘write off’ any outstanding Advanced Learner Loan balance you owe.
