  1. Is it too late apply to start in September?

No… It’s not too late. You can still apply through Clearing. We also have start dates in November, January, February, April and June if you’re not ready to start in September.

  1. What does ‘apply through Clearing’ mean?

Clearing is simply your final chance to apply for a course that still has vacancies for the next academic year.

  1. What grades do you need to apply through Clearing?

Our degree courses require you to have 104 UCAS points. However, we take other factors into consideration so it’s always best to call and chat to a Clearing advisor.

  1. What if I don’t meet the entry requirements for the degree?

We offer a 1-year Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE) qualification. If you complete the Cert HE you can progress onto year 2 of the full degree so you can still get your degree in 3 years.

  1. If you don’t have traditional qualifications, what can you do?

The best thing to do is pick up the phone and call 0300 121 9292 to us about what qualifications you have. We have a number of options for those with less traditional qualifications.

  1. What courses can you apply for in Clearing?

We have 10 undergraduate courses across all 4 of our subject areas; Media, Sport, Business and Digital.

  1. How can I find out what courses have vacancies?

I would recommend using the UCAS Clearing Search Tool on the UCAS website or browsing our courses on the UA92 website.

  1. When does Clearing start?

Clearing is open from now until October. However, A-level results day is the busiest day for Clearing applications.

  1. Why would I need to think about Clearing?

It really depends on your situation! If you’re making a new application after 30 June you will automatically apply through Clearing. If you already have a conditional offer but you don’t get the exam results you’re expecting, you might use Clearing to find another place.

  1. Can mature students use Clearing?

Absolutely – there is no age limit on applying. If you already have the qualifications, you might consider applying direct. Get in touch and we can discuss your options.

  1. Can you still get student finance if you apply through clearing?

In short, the answer is yes. If you already have a Student Finance application, you will just need to login and change your course. If you’re making a new application for finance then it’s worth doing this asap to make sure it’s in place for when you start.

  1. How much does it cost?

Our 3-year degrees are £9,250 per year (Cert HE is a 1-year course costing £9,250). The 2-year accelerated programme is £11,100 per year. International student fees vary slightly so check the website for details.

  1. What other financial support do you offer?

We offer a number of financial support packages to make higher education accessible to all. If you are currently get free school meals then you are probably eligible for our Make It For Real package.

  1. What’s in the ‘Make It for Real’ package?

The package is worth around £5k in total and includes things like a free Microsoft laptop, a free travel pass, free lunches, a free data package and home vouchers. Find out more here.

We have a number of Open Days coming up in August. There’s also a virtual tour on our website that will give you a good feel for the campus and what we offer.

  1. What should I do if I don’t get the results I need?

If you end up in Clearing on results day. The main thing to remember is don’t panic. Give us a call on our clearing helpline 0300 131 9292 and an advisor will talk through your options.

  1. How do I apply through Clearing?

The best thing to do is give us a call on the Clearing helpline and we’ll talk you through the process depending on your circumstances.

  1. What’s your best advice?

Be prepared. Understand your options and don’t worry if you need to find a place in Clearing. It might not have been your original plan but doesn’t mean it won’t work out for the best in the long run.

  1. How will I know if my place at UA92 has been confirmed?

If you have a conditional offer and you meet your offer conditions, your place will automatically be confirmed. You don’t need to do anything further. Check your UCAS account for further information.
