The latest digital tech to make waves in the sports industry is Rezzil and UA92 are the first higher education institution to have it on campus. We catch up with Henry Titley-Wall, Lecturer in Sports at UA92, to find out how this innovative kit is giving sports students real-world experience in the classroom.
Can you explain what Rezzil is?
Rezzil is a world-leading Virtual Reality platform which can develop athletes across a multitude of sports. For example, it is being used at top-flight football clubs around the world like Arsenal and Juventus to support performance analysis, rehabilitation, and virtual cognitive training.
How is Rezzil’s VR capabilities changing the face of Sports Science?
It really is cutting-edge stuff and it’s exciting that UA92 are an early adopter of this technology. Virtual Reality has a vast range of applications in Sports Science including rehabilitation, skill acquisition, performance analysis and perceptual cognitive development. There is so much potential for technology advances across the industry, with Rezzil and VR already playing a big part in shaping the future of sports science.
Why is it important that UA92 sports students have access to digital technologies?
Students on our sports courses are getting hands-on experience with technology that is used globally within the industry. Having experience of using Rezzil and other digital technologies will give them the competitive edge when it comes to employability and aids their development as industry practitioners.
How will you use Rezzil in teaching sports courses?
Rezzil will innovate and enrich the delivery of our Physical Education and Sports degrees. Due to the versatility of the platform, it has applications which can support various modules in our curriculum. It has so much capability that all students will have plenty of opportunity to become leading practitioners able to apply Rezzil within the industry.
