BACK

Student discounts are definitely a perk! Every year shopping centres up and down the country host a Student Night, where hundreds of stores and restaurants offer discounts and deals exclusively for students. This year the Trafford Centre’s Student Night is on Thursday 3rd October, from 6pm – 10pm. You can register for a free wristband here, and this can be collected in the Main Dome on the night (don’t forget your student card). There’s literally hundreds of extra discounts on offer so, to save you time (and money), here’s our rundown of the best student deals.

You can’t shop on an empty stomach, so let’s start with the best food discounts on offer.

Food and Drink

Franco Manca: £5 pizzas

If you’re a fan of sourdough pizzas, Franco Manca is not to be missed. With pizzas usually ranging from £6.95 (for a basic marinara) to £13.45, a student deal of £5 is an absolute bargain. Definitely don’t skip on the dips, either. You can find them upstairs in the food court.

Wingstop: Buy one get one free on 8 pieces of chicken=

Wingstop needs no introduction. Great chicken and great sides. They’re treating all students to buy one, get one free on 8 pieces of boneless chicken or chicken wings, meaning you can take a friend, or enjoy a feast to yourself, while saving more than £8! Find Wingstop on the bottom floor of the food court, next to Nandos.

Hop: 50% off when you spend over £20 and £1 Hop Boxes

In the mood for Vietnamese food, or wanting to give it a try? The 3rd October is the perfect time, with £1 Hop boxes for students (with a range to choose from), and 50% off when you spend over £20. Try everything from pho noodle soup, banh mi baguettes, noodle salads and curries (including plant based and Halal options). Find them on the bottom floor of the food court!

Honorable mentions:
  • Archies: 25% off
  • The Real Greek: 25% off
  • Krispy Kreme: 20% off and a dozen doughnuts for £12
  • Tampopo: 30% off

Clothing and Tech

Samsung: Exclusive complimentary Chromebook

If you’ve been thinking about getting a new phone – now’s the time! Samsung are offering students a free Chromebook Go (valued at £299) when you buy any Galaxy Z Fold6, Z Flip6, or S24 Series device.

River Island: 20% off

River Island are going all out this Student Night, with spin-to- win games and an instore DJ. Most importantly, they’re offering 20% off, so why not treat yourself to some new outfits in time for Autumn? And if that’s not exciting enough, the first 100 students to make a purchase from 6pm will even get a free gift!

Schuh: 20% off full price and sale items

It’s definitely worth popping into Schuh, who are also offering some great spin-to-win prizes. You’re in with a chance to win 25% or 30% off, or even some free shoes. Across all their range, including full price and sale items, students can get 20% off. We’ve also heard there’s some goody bags up for grabs…

Honorable mentions:

  • Levi’s: 30% off
  • JD: 20% off
  • Kenji: 10% off and spin-to-win prizes
  • Lush: Bath bomb making sessions and skin/hair care consultations
  • All Saints: 20% off

Entertainment

Paradise Island Adventure Golf: 50% off student prices

Welcome Week might be over, but it’s only the beginning when it comes to making memories with your uni friends. With 50% off student prices at Paradise Island Adventure Golf, it’s a great opportunity to head out for some competitive fun. The student deal is for one round of 18 holes, and there’s two courses to choose from!

Namco Funscape: Bowling, drinks and dodgem for £13.95

Speaking of competitive fun, you can have a memorable (and affordable) evening out with a game of bowling, a drinks voucher and a dodgem token for £13.95 in Namco Funscape, which you can find on the bottom floor of the food court. And if you need to settle a tie, the arcade is right there!

Remember

Discounts are great, but don’t just buy something because it’s discounted. Here are a few useful questions to ask yourself before making the purchase; Do I need it? Have I got something similar? Will I use it? Do I need it now? Remember, your money has to stretch a long way, so make sure you can afford it in the long run.
