Jon Radcliffe has an academic background in Sports Science, Sport Psychology, and Strength and Conditioning.
Having received a First Class BSc in Applied Sport Science and a MSc (distinction) in Psychology, Jon conducted research examining the use of psychology within strength and conditioning, graduating as a Doctor of Philosophy in 2014.
Jon is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and was awarded the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice in 2013. He has considerable experience in programme design and leadership having designed and led Sports Coaching undergraduate degrees since 2016 as well as leading the Sport and Exercise Science suite of programmes through successful periodic reapproval.
Jon has previously had responsibilities at School and Faculty level regarding graduate employability in which sector leading graduate outcomes were achieved. At a programme level, Jon led the Sports Coaching programme resulting in university and sector leading student satisfaction metrics. Furthermore Jon has worked as a link tutor, is an external examiner, and had been involved in internal and external programme scrutiny including being the lead academic reviewing a number of UK and oversees based franchise provisions.
Jon has previously been a member of the Sport Leeds Board contributing to promoting and increasing physical activity and sporting activities in the Leeds and surrounding area. This is in addition to leading and contributing to university-wide initiatives including engagement with influential external executive-level stakeholders to improve student experience and employability prospects.
