WHAT IS AN ACCESS
TO HE COURSE?
A LEVEL 3 QUALIFICATION ACCREDITED BY THE QUALITY ASSURANCE AGENCY OF HIGHER EDUCATION (QAA) AND SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO PREPARE MATURE STUDENTS FOR UNIVERSITY LEVEL STUDY. THE ACCESS TO HE COURSES ARE DELIVERED BY EXPERTS FROM TRAFFORD COLLEGE AT OUR CAMPUS IN OLD TRAFFORD, MANCHESTER.
SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF AN ACCESS TO HE COURSE WOULD GUARANTEE A PLACE ON A UA92 DEGREE COURSE, AWARDED BY LANCASTER UNIVERSITY.
You will study a wide range of business topics, including marketing, finance, management, and law.
Access to Business & Management
You will study a wide range of topics, including programming, network engineering, cyber security and web animation.
Access to Computing
You will study a wide range of business topics, including business management, leadership, and sports development.
Access to Sports Management
HOW IT WORKS
Through lectures and group work, independent study, and academic research you will be able to master key business management, computing or sports management principles and gain practical skills valued by employers and higher education institutions alike.
WHAT ARE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?
You must have achieved GCSE English and Maths at Grade C / 4 or above to qualify for one of our Access to HE courses.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The fees for the course are £3,022. Fees are due at enrolment, and an instalment plan is available should it be required.
You may be eligible for a full fee remission if you are in receipt of certain benefits or earning less than £19,890 per annum (if residing within Greater Manchester).
Learners aged 19+ may be eligible to take out an Advanced Learner Loan for the tuition fees however the registration fee cannot be included; this must be paid by yourself.
For learners going on to successfully study a degree, then the amount for the Access to HE loan will be written off.
WHEN AND WHERE WILL I STUDY?
Both courses consist of 30 weeks of full-time study. Learners will study at the UA92 campus, based in Old Trafford, Manchester.
HOW IS THE COURSE ASSESSED?
Assessments include essays, practical reports, case studies, open or closed book examinations and verbal, visual and/or IT-based presentations.
All modules will include an element of the time-constrained assessment which will contribute towards the final module grade.
WHAT COMES NEXT?
Learners who successfully complete the Access to Higher Education Diploma in either Business and Management or Sports Management are guaranteed an offer to study on a UA92 degree course.
