UA92 Partners with British Triathlon to Bring Swim, Bike and Run to Communities

British Triathlon have announced a partnership with University Academy 92 (UA92) to support delivery of their Active Skills for Life programme to children and young people in the community.

The collaboration will see more than 100 UA92 students trained each year to deliver Active Skills for Life, which provides resources to schools, clubs, holiday camps, community groups and leisure operators, helping children to learn essential life skills through swim, bike and run.

From September 2025, UA92 will embed the Active Skills for Life Activator/Leader qualification into its curriculum. Awarded by British Triathlon, this industry-recognised training will be delivered by trained UA92 lecturers. It will equip students to deliver engaging, inclusive physical literacy interventions and health-focused initiatives in local schools, community groups and youth organisations.

This hands-on experience strengthens UA92 students’ skills as future practitioners, whilst supporting wider community efforts to foster positive relationships with movement and physical activity, impacting an estimated 250 young people per academic year.

Henry Titley-Wall, Course Leader at UA92, said: “Working closely with our valued community partners and local schools, we aim to engage as many children and young people as possible through our outreach and curriculum-based activities.

“This is made possible by embedding opportunities such as this into our Sport and Health curriculum and embracing an experiential learning approach, ensuring our students gain meaningful experiences while contributing positively to local communities.”

Amy Hall, British Triathlon’s Director of Community and Sports Development, said: “Active Skills for life uses triathlon-inspired games and challenges that are designed to help kids develop teamwork, resilience, water safety skills and much more – all while staying active and engaged.

“We’re excited to partner with UA92 because not only will it qualify their students as Active Skills for Life Activators and Leaders, but their strong connections with local schools and the community mean more children will benefit from being active through swim, bike and run.”
