THE ROLE

We are currently looking to recruit a UK Student Recruitment Manager.

Reporting to the Director of Student Recruitment and International, you will be responsible for:

  • The continued growth of UK student numbers through schools and colleges recruitment activity, whilst supporting colleagues with community outreach when necessary.
  • The implementation and continual improvement of the traditional student recruitment strategy, including building and maintaining relationships with key schools, colleges, and other external organisations.
  • Continuing to grow the number of UA92 students that come from the most disadvantaged backgrounds.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To lead on the recruitment of students from schools and colleges as part of the broader student recruitment efforts in Greater Manchester and beyond.
  • To establish, maintain and enhance relationships with key stakeholders including teachers and careers advisors to develop a sustainable pipeline of prospective students from a broad range of schools and colleges.
  • Lead the team responsible for achieving challenging student recruitment targets through high quality activities and the provision of information, advice and guidance at schools, colleges, and recruitment events across the UK.
  • To oversee all school and college account management through the effective line management of their team with a particular focus on customer satisfaction within our target institutions.
  • To lead on the development and implementation of the UA92 Access and Participation Plan. Continuing to grow the number of UA92 students that come from the most disadvantaged backgrounds.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Experience in the Higher Education sector with proven results driving Student Recruitment targets.
  • Act as an ambassador for and senior representative of UA92 internally and externally.
  • Deputise for Director of Student Recruitment and International as and when required.
  • Lead by example, manage and motivate team members and seek to continuously enhance performance.
  • Understanding and knowledge of the regulation covering access to higher education including access an participation plans.

SKILLS & EXPERTISE

UK student recruitment – Schools and Colleges

  • Enhance and develop our network of target schools and colleges working with UA92; including implementing processes for school communication, monitoring performance and regular visits to key schools and colleges.
  • Lead the planning and execution of all UCAS Fayres (and other HE fayres) over the academic year with a clear focus on maximizing stand experience and data capture.
  • Work closely with the Director of Student Recruitment and International to ensure the efficient usage of overall UA92 budgets and the achievement of results.
  • Engage with and enlist the support of academic colleagues in supporting student recruitment activity.
  • Represent UA92 at local, national and international level on a range of student recruitment and conversion activities

  • Experience of coordinating recruitment activities on a range of scales from large events to smaller more bespoke activity targeted at specific partners.
  • Excellent networking skills to build effective partnerships with school.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with an ability to engage and build good rapport.
  • An ability to deliver effective reporting to internal stakeholders and leadership, as well as external partners on performance and activity.
  • Proven leadership and line management ability with a track record of building high performance teams.
