Legal information
University Academy 92 Limited (UA92), a company limited by shares incorporated and based in England, is a joint venture between Lancaster University, and several individual shareholders drawn from former Manchester United footballers the Class of 92 and their associates.
UA92 is registered with the Office for Students and is a registered provider of higher education in England.

UA92 is required to publish the following transparency information as a condition of its registration with the office for students (OFS).
The information published on these pages shows:
- The number of applications for admission on to recognised, higher education courses that we have received from the UK domiciled applicants.
- The number of offers we have made in relation to those applications.
- The number of those offers accepted and the number of those who have registered with us.
- The number of students who attained a particular degree or other academic award, or a particular level of such an award, on completion of their course with us.
It also shows these numbers by reference to:
- The gender of the individuals to which they relate.
- Their ethnicity.
- Their socio-economic background.
PUBLICATION SCHEME
UA92 publication scheme for the purpose of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, University Academy 92 Limited is classes as a public authority, meaning that it is subject to the act and must make certain information publicly available, including the publication scheme.
Under the FOIA, public authorities such as UA92 are required to have a publication scheme, telling people about the broad classes of information which public authorities will routinely make available to the public, including information held in any form like websites, paper files and public registers.
UA92 has adopted the Information Commissioner’s Model Publication Scheme for Higher Education Institutions. The Information Commissioner is an independent regulator who enforces and advises on the FOIA and has produced and approved of this scheme. A copy of our publication scheme can be found here:

By adopting this scheme, UA92 has committed to:
- Proactively publish information (including environmental information) which is held by it and contained within each class.
- Provide a means by which UA92 can make the public aware of the types of information it will make readily available, how they can access that information and whether they will have to pay for it.
- Review and update the information on a regular basis.
The Model Publication Scheme contains seven ‘classes’ of information, of which UA92 is committed to making publicly available:
- Who we are and what we do.
- What we spend and how we spend it.
- What our priorities are and how we are doing.
- How we make decisions.
- Our policies and procedures.

WHAT IS FREEDOM OF INFORMATION?
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI) gives people the general right to see recorded information held by public authorities. Under FOI, anybody may request information from any public authority, including higher education institutions, which has functions in England, Wales and/or Northern Ireland.
The Act confers two statutory rights on applicants;
- To be told whether or not the public authority holds the information they request, and if so;
- To have that information communicated to them.
The Act means that University Academy 92 Limited is legally required to answer all written enquiries and requests for information from any person or organisation in the world within 20 working days, subject to certain exemptions.
The public also has access to information within the Publication Scheme.
HOW DO I MAKE A FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST?
You can make a request for information from UA92 Limited under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 by:
- Emailing compliance@ua92.ac.uk
- Write to: Data Protection Officer, University Academy 92 Limited, Brian Statham Way, Old Trafford, Manchester, M16 0PU.
To make a valid request, you must include the requester’s real name, a valid address for correspondence, and a clear description of the information you are requesting. The Information Commissioners Office has ruled that applicants must provide their real name and requests using pseudonyms may be refused.
COSTS FOR INFORMATION PROVIDED FOLLOWING AN FOI REQUEST
Information will be made available on request, in cases where it is not practical to include on the website.
Where information cannot be made available free of charge, we may charge to cover the cost of actual disbursements such as photocopying, printing, postage and packaging and the cost directly incurred as a result of viewing information.
Any charges will be specified within the publication scheme and be in accordance with the UA92 policy.

UA92 approach to quality assurance and enhancement is to:
- Ensure that UA92 adopts rigorous processes whilst maintaining flexibility to allow UA92 to develop and mature.
- Ensure that they are fit for purpose at this point in UA92’s development but are cognisant of UA92 future development plan.
- Satisfy the expectations of external regulators and quality assurance agencies while at the same time serving UA92s and Lancaster University’s quality assurance requirements.
- Provide reliable intelligence and promote effective action.
- Promote a culture of continuous reflection and improvement to support the delivery of a superlative student experience at UA92.
- Put student voice at the heart of decision making at UA92.
- Actively and willingly supported and engaged with by key stakeholders, including employees, students, and partners.
3.2 UA92 policies align with expectations for standards as outlined in the UK Quality Code for Higher Education. In particular:
- The academic standards of UA92 courses meet the requirements of the relevant national qualification’s framework.
- The value of qualifications awarded to students at the point of qualification and over time is in line with sector-recognised standards.
- UA92 Courses are well-designed, provide a high-quality academic experience for all students and enable a student’s achievement to be reliably assessed.
- From admission through to completion, all UA92 students are provided with the support that they need to succeed in and benefit from higher education.
Quality and Standards Review is the process the UK Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) uses to provide evidence to the Office for Students (OfS) about whether new providers applying to be on the OfS’s Register meet the Core practices of the UK Quality Code for Higher Education (the Quality Code).
UA92 underwent QSR in January 2020 as part of its application for Registration with the Office for Students.
