A Data Analyst apprenticeship will provide your team with high-demand skills that can be applied across various sectors. Data Analyst apprentices collect, process, and analyse data to help businesses make informed decisions, backed by proper evidence.
What is a level 4 Data Analyst?
This role spans multiple domains, transforming organisational strategies through data-driven insights. The Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship opens opportunities in industries at the forefront of big data, AI, machine learning, cloud computing, and data visualisation.
Apprentices will learn to work effectively in teams, understand business environments, and interpret data. With access to leading platforms and real-life experience, they will be prepared for roles such as Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Scientist, Data Engineer, and Research Analyst.
What skills will they learn?
Your apprentices will study a range of topics on this programme. All our programmes are built in collaboration with top businesses and industry experts, so your learners will get the latest skills and knowledge to put them at the forefront of their industry.
Each learner on this programme will learn:
- Core data skills including how to collect, handle, clean and process different types of data to support business decision-making.
- Data infrastructure and databases
In addition, apprentice can access additional learning and support through our vendor partnerships. These include Microsoft, CompTIA, the Linux Professional Institute (LPI) and the Cisco Networking Academy.
How long will it take?
The apprenticeship will run for a total of 18 – 24 months. Within this time, apprentices will complete 7 modules and can complete additional recognised qualifications.
What will the apprenticeship cover?
- Module 1: Induction and tech bootcamp. This module builds the foundations of data analysis, covering data types, ethics, legislation, and the principles of the analysis lifecycle. Learners will develop secure practices, problem-solving approaches, and an understanding of structured and unstructured data.
- Module 2: Programming data. This module equips learners to classify, combine, and process data programmatically. It emphasises secure handling, problem-solving, and selecting appropriate tools to deliver accurate, ethical outputs.
- Module 3: Visualising data. Focusing on communication, this module develops skills in turning data into clear insights using dashboards, reports, and infographics. Learners will apply statistical methods, consider user experience, and present findings effectively to different audiences.
- Module 4: Data infrastructure. This module explores database design, data architecture, and the challenges of combining and maintaining datasets. Learners will analyse data structures, manage quality risks, and apply organisational standards to ensure reliable data management.
- Module 5: Data and the cloud. Learners will examine how cloud technologies support scalable and secure data management. The module covers identifying risks, applying architecture requirements, and using tools effectively within dynamic cloud environments.
- Module 6: Machine learning. This module introduces predictive analytics and machine learning techniques such as modelling and forecasting. Learners will apply these methods to uncover patterns, generate insights, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Module 7: Role specific development and Apprentice Assessment preparation. In the last module of the programme, apprentices will fine-tune their key functional skills and behaviours in line with the role. In addition, they will work on their EPA project and prepare for the EPA interview.
