What is a Certificate of Higher Education (Cert HE)?

A Certificate in Higher Education (CertHE) course is a level 4 qualification that is equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree. A CertHE is a recognised qualification that can open up career opportunities or the option for further study. Taught by experienced lecturers, you will study alongside student who are studying their first year of the full degree. You will also have all the same benefits as a UA92 students with access to student support, student finance, Sport 92, student accommodation and much more.

Reasons to study a Cert HE include:

  • Don’t want to commit to studying a full degree
  • Only want to complete 1 year of study
  • Looking for a flexible option
  • Test the waters to see if university is right for you
  • Don’t have the qualifications to apply for the full degree

All our courses across Business, Sport, Media and Digital offer the option to study a 1 year CertHE course. If you successfully complete the CertHE, you will have the options to progress directly into the second year on the full degree, so you could still achieve a degree in 3 years.

I thought I would have to do extra qualifications or an access course before I applied. Then I came across UA92 and their Certificate of Higher Education, which changed everything.”
