Accounting and Business Management students will be required to sit some exams in order to achieve the required exemptions.
*A minimum overall module mark of 50% is required to be considered for exemption.
You will be introduced to the contemporary business environment and foster a practical understanding of the commercial opportunities and challenges facing businesses.
You will study the basic principles of the Macro and Micro-environment, the effects of government intervention on the market, supply and demand and market outcomes.
You will delve into the core concepts in organisational behaviour and contemporary management theory.
In this module you will gain an understanding of the financial and managerial concepts required to enable managers to make better decisions, the purpose of applying costing techniques, as well as, the role of budgets in decision-making and how this can impact organisational behaviour and performance.
In this module you’ll develop knowledge and skills in specific legal areas relating to accounting and finance and recognise the need to seek specialist legal advice when necessary.
You’ll develop your knowledge and learn how to exercise professional judgment in relation to the financial management function. By understanding working capital management and the need for investment appraisal and business valuations, you’ll be able to make justified recommendations relating to the financial management of an organisation in private and public sectors.
Get an in-depth understanding of operations management across service and manufacturing organisations.
You’ll gain an in-depth understanding of the nature and role of innovation in businesses. With a focus on understanding the ways in which businesses can foster an entrepreneurial and innovative culture to deliver value to consumers and society.
You will explore how businesses develop their strategic positioning and implement strategic plans to deliver this.
Explore how emergent technologies are driving fundamental change across multiple business sectors. Specifically, how digital technologies, ranging from AI to cryptocurrency, are disrupting sectors and generating innovative new business models.
Analyse the two dimensions of finance and sustainability. Explore how businesses raise and manage finance in order to deliver a sustainable financial future and how long-term investments in sustainable infrastructure, such as renewable energy, carbon capture and waste recycling, can be financed.
In this module, you will complete either a live project from one of our partners or a dissertation on an area of interest, that demonstrates your research and problem-solving skills.

Assessment takes the form of a Professional Diary, which is a log capturing evidence of your learning, activities and reflections. This can be videos, photos or even audio.
This is supplemented with a reflective account, which links your experiences to your personal growth.

Our Campus in Old Trafford Manchester has teaching facilities across our Main Campus, Old Trafford Stadium (home of Manchester United) and Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground (home of Lancashire Cricket).
Depending on your course, you may have classes across all our teaching facilities. All sites are within walking distance of each other and easily accessible by public transport.

* To achieve the professional body exemptions, exams are necessary on some modules. You will need to achieve the pass mark set by the professional body to achieve the exemption. The exams will be taken within the module they relate to, not at the end of the academic year.
The standard entry requirements for the BSc (Hons) Accounting and Business Management course is 104 UCAS points. However, each application is assessed on an individual basis, taking into consideration a wide range of factors. Depending on your personal circumstances, and in line with our Contextual Admissions Policy, your application may still be considered if you have less than 104 UCAS Points. Alternatively, we have other courses that we can offer. International Baccalaureat
Pass the IB Diploma with minimum 28 points overall, with 14 points from Higher Level Subjects.
English Language Requirements
In addition to meeting the academic criteria, if your first language isn’t English, you may be asked for a recognised English language qualification. This is especially important if you are not a national of a majority English speaking country or you haven’t completed a degree in English. If you are an international student, in order to obtain a student visa, you will be required to demonstrate that you have the correct level of English language competency to study in the UK.
