For the third year running UA92 has been ranked the most supportive in Greater Manchester in the most recent National Student Survey.* The National Student Survey is completed by final year students in the UK inviting feedback on the experience whilst studying.
The 2026 results have just been published and UA92 further improved on last years’ score, achieving a rating of 92.2% in the theme of Academic Support, well above the sector average.
UA92, Manchester‘s higher education institution founded by the Class of 92 and Lancaster University, has now topped Greater Manchester for academic support three years in a row.
Their deliberately different model combines small class sizes, high contact time, and fixed timetables to ensure students receive the support they need.
Professor Zainab Khan, UA92’s new CEO and Principal, said: “Being rated the most supportive in Greater Manchester for three years running is a testament to our brilliant and dedicated staff. The results reflect that our deliberately different model is working. We’re determined that every student has the opportunity to succeed.”
Gareth Smith, Chief of Strategy and Student Life said; “Supporting students is at the heart of what we do. Many of our students come from areas with the lowest rates of progression into higher education, and we are passionate about removing barriers – whether that’s academic, personal or financial.”

Beyond its leading Academic Support score, UA92 also increased its scores in the themes ‘Teaching on my course’ and ‘Learning opportunities’, as well as achieving an above sector average score for ‘Assessment and feedback’.
