Phoebe’s Story

Phoebe began considering Clearing before Results Day after deciding her original university choices were no longer right for her. She remembered UA92 from a UCAS fair, where its energy, ethos, and career-focused opportunities stood out.
After securing her place, receiving a congratulatory call from Gary Neville confirmed she had made the right choice. She was particularly attracted to UA92’s structured timetable and practical approach, which allowed her to balance university with part-time work.
Phoebe’s advice is simple: visit universities in person and trust your instincts about where feels right.
“I considered Clearing before results day, I had changed my mind on my options I had originally applied for. I thought back to a UCAS fair and remembered UA92. Their stand stood out to me along with the courses and opportunities that came with it. I originally didn’t want to go to university and this just felt like the best option for me. It’s the best decision I made.”
Amelia’s Story

Amelia discovered Clearing unexpectedly after exceeding her academic expectations and realising she already had enough qualifications to start university sooner than planned. While on holiday in Mallorca, she called UA92 to explore her options and quickly recognised it as the right fit.
The flexible timetable, small class sizes, and ability to commute from home were key reasons behind her decision. Since joining UA92, she has built lifelong friendships and even interviewed Gary Neville, an experience she considers a career highlight.
Amelia says applying through Clearing was one of the best decisions she has ever made and encourages students to be brave and take advantage of the opportunity.
“Don’t be nervous. Everyone at UA92 is there to help and get you to a point where you can kickstart your career. I would say just go for it and be brave and apply, because you never know where it may lead you.”
Harvey’s Story
Sports Journalism (Accelerated)
After taking a gap year, studying elsewhere, and spending time working abroad, Harvey realised he wanted to return to higher education. Once his Student Finance was approved, Clearing gave him the opportunity to find the right university and course.
UA92’s accelerated degree structure, location in Manchester, and focus on practical opportunities made it the perfect fit. Since joining, Harvey has represented UA92 in a charity boxing event, developed his confidence, and gained valuable experiences both on and off camera.
He describes coming to UA92 through Clearing as a life-changing decision and encourages students to keep an open mind about the opportunities Clearing can offer.
“Coming to UA92 has given me opportunities I don’t think I would’ve had anywhere else. I’ve met some amazing people, developed new skills, represented the university, and it’s helped me become more confident both on and off camera. If I had the choice again, I’d make exactly the same decision.
For me, Clearing has genuinely been life-changing. It’s the only route I’ve ever used into university, and it’s given me opportunities that I probably wouldn’t have had otherwise. I’ve only got positive things to say about it, and I’d definitely recommend people keep an open mind about it.”
