Manchester is one of the best places in the world to start a football career. The city’s football heritage goes way back. Manchester was the birthplace of the English Football League in 1888.

Manchester sits at the heart of the game. The English Football League, the first of its kind in the world, started here in 1888. The city is home to Manchester United and Manchester City, one of the best-known rivalries in world football. The Manchester Derby is always one of the most anticipated games of the Premier League season and one of the biggest days of the year for fans on both sides.  

The National Football Museum, in Manchester’s city-centre, is the world’s largest football museum, holding an incredible collection of football history, including trophies, memorabilia and kits. Few cities can match it when it comes to the great game.

A City with Big Plans

Manchester United plan to build a new 100,000-seat stadium next to their current Old Trafford stadium, as part of a huge £2 billion regeneration initiative in the area. The club says the wider project could add around £7.3 billion a year to the UK economy and create about 92,000 jobs. And it’s all is happening on UA92’s doorstep.

What is University Academy 92 (UA92)?

UA92 is a higher education institution in Old Trafford, Manchester. It was co-founded by members of Manchester United’s Class of 92, with all degrees awarded by Lancaster University.
