UA92 Recognised with Triathlon England Engagement Award

UA92 have been awarded a Triathlon England Engagement Award, recognising its partnership with Triathlon England and its commitment to creating opportunities for students and communities across the North West.

The award celebrates organisations that have made a significant contribution to engaging individuals across the community in swim, bike and run activities, building confidence, developing skills and experiencing the wider benefits of sport.

UA92 has been recognised for its forward-thinking approach, particularly through the development of a bespoke Active Skills for Life (ASfL) programme that has been embedded into their degrees.

Since partnering with British Triathlon last year, UA92 has integrated ASfL training into the curriculum, meaning over 100 UA92 students were able to combine academic learning with practical experience.

This hands-on training strengthened UA92 students’ skills as future practitioners, whilst supporting wider community efforts to foster positive relationships with movement and physical activity, impacting an estimated 250 young people this academic year.

In addition to ASfL, UA92 have played an important role in supporting regional initiatives, including hosting the inaugural North West Community Day, which was attended by 12 different clubs from across the North West Triathlon Community, who came together for training and networking.

Speaking about the award, Henry Titley-Wall, Course Leader in Sport at UA92, said, “We are incredibly proud to receive the Triathlon England Engagement Award.

“This recognition reflects the strength of our partnership with British Triathlon and our shared commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for our students and communities.

“Embedding the Active Skills for Life programme into our degree pathways has enabled us to work closely with our valued community partners and local schools, engaging as many children and young people as possible through our outreach and curriculum-based activities”.

The award marks another milestone in UA92’s mission to offer higher education differently, challenge traditional approaches and make a tangible impact in the local community.
