VISITS FROM UA92
Our outreach menu ranges from traditional HE sessions on Student Finance, personal statements and UCAS applications, to enrichment sessions designed to build confidence and grow your students’ soft skills. Our Student Futures Team can deliver sessions on your campus for up to 150 students at a time, making it a fun and interactive workshop for all.
OUTREACH MENU
We offer a range of workshops, presentations, talks and event attendance
within your institution along with our Open Days, Applicant Visit Days and
bespoke on-campus events. The Student Futures Team understand the
importance of encompassing the Gatsby benchmarks in their outreach work.
All UA92 outreach sessions aim to meet Gatsby benchmark 7.
Introducing the different aspects of the Student Finance process, this session is designed to change the perception that money is a barrier to accessing Higher Education. Learners will understand the difference between a
Tuition Fee Loan and Maintenance Loan and learn how to apply for Student Finance.
Make a Statement provides learners with the knowledge required to create an effective personal statement. They are given the opportunity to analyse example personal statements before drafting their own with the support of
UA92 staff members.
Our Uni Life session brings attention to the prospect of living away from home for university. Students will explore topics such as independent living, time
management, and building a social/support network.
Hire Power is an interactive session that guides students through every step of the job application process, from creating a standout CV to nailing interviews and making a confident transition into the workforce.
This session introduces budgeting and its necessity in everyday living. Students will be shown various budgeting techniques, whilst engaging in activities that further demonstrate the need to spend wisely.
Skills School encourages learners to understand how building transferable skills can help them to succeed at university and beyond. Learners will participate in interactive activities designed to improve their communication and leadership skills, before applying these to a university or job application.
Designed to boost energy and help students to learn simple, effective ways to handle college stress, exams, and future decisions in fun, interactive sessions!
Prep-Talk offers learners a variety of interactive public speaking and confidence activities, where we provide young people with all the tools they need to let their voices be heard.
Master your Motivation supports learners to discover how they can boost their motivation and maximise their productivity. Learners will participate in a variety of reflective activities aimed at discovering their motivation style and before setting their own SMART goals.
A Brand New You teaches learners the importance of building a personal brand in the modern world, from their internet personality, consideration of
their actions, and the value their network can bring to their lives and future development.
VISITS TO UA92
On campus visits are the best way to experience what life at UA92 is like. By coming onto campus, your students will be able to fully immerse themselves in the UA92 community, hear from our Student Ambassadors on their journey to Higher Education and take part in an interactive session in one of our ‘World Of’ areas. Your students will walk away from our visits feeling inspired and motivated for their next steps.
We have a number of different offers for our on-campus visits, which are outlined below.
Insight Days
We believe that being hands on is the best way for students to learn. We offer practical and interactive insight days in all four of our World Of areas: Sports, Business, Media and Digital. This is a great chance for your students to learn from our knowledgeable academics, whilst also seeing what their potential future degree would entail.
All sessions are designed to suit students’ needs, and all sessions can be tailored depending on what you would like your students to get out of the day. For example, within your insight day, we can offer a carousel of activities (e.g. Sports Coaching and Physical Education taster), partner experience, campus tour, outreach session, or a Q&A with our student ambassadors. Tailoring your session can be a great way of opening your students up to a different topic they may not have learnt yet, helping them broaden their horizons and make an informed choice.
Inter-college Events
At UA92, we love to see young people build up their team working skills and add in an element of competition! Whether your team is trying to ethically hack into a website in our World of Digital Hackathon or present an innovative new business idea to a panel of “dragons” in the World of Business Pitch Battle, there is something for everyone at our inter-college events. These events are designed to bring colleges from the Greater Manchester area and beyond onto our campus to take part in an interactive session and compete against each other on the task set. By working collaboratively with not only each other, but also other students from different areas of Manchester, our inter-college events are the perfect way to boosts students’ confidence and build up their public speaking skills.
We also work closely with out industry partners on our inter-college events, giving students a taste early on into what businesses are looking for in their talent.
