Hear Tony's Story
“I realised I’d spent the best part of 20 years in a career that I didn’t really have much passion for. So I quit my job and I found a position as a PE teacher in Stockholm, and I absolutely loved it. And it’s brought me here to get myself qualified. I reached out to a Student Recruitment officer at UA92, and he made it happen.”
After a huge change in his career, and with a family to support, Tony needed a flexible course that would allow him to get his degree faster. At UA92, he could focus on one module at a time, and study an accelerated degree, so he could get his qualification in two years, rather than three.

FIND OUT MOREAm I classed as a mature student?
If you are aged 21+ and are starting an undergraduate course, you are classed as a mature student.
Do I need recent qualifications to apply?
UA92 accept a wide range of qualifications. Take a look at our entry requirements, and the course you’re interested in, for further details. In line with our Contextual Admissions Policy, we can consider a range of life and work experiences along with (or sometimes, in place of) traditional qualifications, on a case by case basis. Get in touch with us at futures@ua92.ac.uk, and we can discuss this with you.
Can I still apply for student finance?
Yes, if this is your first higher education qualification. There is no upper age limit on tuition fee loans, so you can still receive the maximum tuition fee loan. Find out more about tuition fees here. For maintenance loans, if you’re aged 60 and over on the first day of your course, you may receive a limited maintenance loan. If you’re aged 25 and over, you’re usually classed as ‘independent’ for means-testing, meaning your maintenance support will be based of your own income, rather than your parents’.
How do I apply as a mature student?
Applications normally go through UCAS, but you can contact us at futures@ua92.ac.uk for any support you need with your UCAS application. Find out more on the UCAS website.
If you have the required qualifications, you can apply directly by emailing us at futures@ua92.ac.uk.
