After leaving college, I started coaching sports, a job I absolutely loved! I did some coaching qualifications but realised that if I wanted to progress as a coach, I needed to look at higher education. I knew it wasn’t straight forward as I didn’t have traditional qualifications and I had been out of education for a while. Someone recommended the Fast Forward course at UA92 so I took a leap of faith and signed myself up. After a week on the course I knew I wanted to come here and after initially doing a Cert HE, I’m now in the second year of my degree.

Graduating was something I never imagined I’d achieve, especially not while raising a child and working at the same time. UA92’s half‑day timetable felt like the solution I’d been searching for. It meant I could still work, still look after my daughter and still complete my degree. UA92 gave me amazing opportunities outside the classroom too. Through the BUCS Women’s Leadership Programme, I met women from across the UK who were all driven to succeed in football. I also worked on a module with Salford City FC, which turned into a permanent part‑time role.

I was a bit anxious starting uni. I knew, at 22, I would be a few years older than most other students. I took a year out after college and on a whim applied for a job as a dental nurse. I quickly realised it wasn’t my dream career but I enjoyed the marketing side of it so decided to apply to uni to study Business Management. I knew I wanted to continue working but it was difficult to find somewhere that had a timetable which suited me. That’s when I came across UA92, with the fixed am/pm timetable and the fact I could get my degree in 2-years, was perfect for me. It’s been an amazing experience and I’ve made so many so many new friends from all over the world.

I’m a first year Accelerated Physical Education student. I’ve been all over the world with managerial positions for various brands, but I was living in Stockholm when I decided on a career change from retail management and took on a job as an AssistantPE Teacher. I was loving every minute, but I couldn’t progress without a degree. With a family to support, UA92’s accelerated course and fixed timetable felt like the perfect route for me as I could complete the degree quicker in just two years.

Start When You’re Ready
We don’t believe you should have to wait to start your future. That’s why we offer five different entry points throughout the year – so you can start when you’re ready.
At UA92, the academic year is split into six blocks, which gives you the flexibility to choose when to start. For the CertHE or three year degree you can start in September, November, January, February, or April. If you’re applying for an accelerated 2 year degree you can get started in September, January or April.
