Abigail Wiggett
BSc (Hons) Computer Science
Abigail studied Computer Science at UA92, graduating in 2025 and going on to secure a role at the Bank of New York as an Engineering Analyst.
“I’ve always enjoyed problem-solving and learning new things, which led me to pursue higher education and a professional career where collaboration, communication, and adaptability are key. My time at UA92 helped me build confidence, develop strong interpersonal skills through being a student representative, and prepare for life beyond education. I’m the first in my family to go into higher education, and I’m passionate about encouraging others to believe in their potential and take up space in any field they’re interested in.”
Almira Khan
BSc (Hons) Accounting and Business
Almira studied Accounting and Business at UA92, graduating in 2024 and securing a role as a Future Talent Trainee at Tesla.
“I left Rochdale Sixth Form College in 2022, going straight in an Accelerated Accounting and Business degree at UA92. I chose an Accelerated course so that I could get into the world of work quicker, completing my studies in 2024. I now work as a Future Talent Trainee at Tesla, working across sales, service and delivery.”
Arne De Cauwer
BA (Hons) Sports Management
Arne graduated with a degree in Sports Management in 2025. He now works as an Account Manager for Sandhills East.
“I had so many incredible opportunities whilst studying at UA92, from volunteering with Swinton Lionesses, helping to develop their social media presence, to hosting the UA92 EDIB in Sports Leadership Conference, and being chosen as a Student Ambassador, taking part in open days, panels and events representing UA92’s student body. I started at UA92 when I was 17 due to being an international student, and I chose to do an accelerated degree as I wanted to get into the world of work as quickly as possible, meaning I graduated when I was only 19! I secured my current role at Sandhills East before I even graduated.”
Charlie Ferris
BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance
Charlie studied Accounting and Finance at UA92, graduating in 2025. She is now completing a Masters in Corporate Business and Finance Law at Liverpool John Moores University.
“My time at UA92 gave me strong skills in Accounting and Finance, I’m now studying a Masters in Corporate Business and Finance Law, and I genuinely feel that my UA92 experience prepared me well for this next step. Looking back, the challenges I faced such as having to resit a year were just as valuable as the successes in helping me develop and move forward.”
Dan Hyland
BSc (Hons) Sports and Exercise Science
Dan works as an Academy Physical Performance Coach at Manchester City. He studied Sports and Exercise Science at UA92, before pursuing a master’s degree in Strength and Conditioning
“Before I came to UA92, I actually wanted to do an apprenticeship because I was eager to start working straight away and be more hands-on instead of being sat in a lecture theatre all day. When I heard about UA92 and its whole approach, I liked the sound of it and decided to apply. To this day, I believe that choosing UA92 instead of my apprenticeship was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I learned so much whilst I was at UA92, but I think that the character and personal development was my biggest takeaway. It’s helped set me apart from the crowd and given me confidence in interviews and meetings, which I know puts me in a stronger position. If I was going to give a student looking to start their next steps some advice, I would say take every opportunity you’re given. It sounds cliché, but you genuinely never know when a conversation or meeting with someone can lead to an opportunity or even put you in the same room with someone who can help your journey.”
Emily Severn
BA (Hons) Physical Education
Emily went on to do a Masters’ degree in Journalism and is currently teaching English in Suzhou, China and focusing on her music career in her free time.
“In April, I was invited to the BBC Radio Nottingham studio by Dean Jackson to discuss my song “City Nights.” The confidence I now have to speak on the radio is thanks to the presentation-based assignments at UA92. These experiences prepared me for public speaking, a crucial aspect of my music career. UA92 not only provided me with degree-specific skills but also transferable ones, enhancing my confidence and belief in my abilities.”
Harry Parker
BA (Hons) Sports Journalism
Harry works as a Social Media Assistant at Relentless Group, after graduating from UA92 with a degree in Sports Journalism in 2024.
“I had the most incredible three years at UA92, a personal highlight for me was getting to interview Gary Neville, one of my childhood idols. Since graduating, I’ve come full circle and now work as a Social Media Assistant at Relentless Group, working on projects with Gary like The Overlap and Salford City FC. This role was a long-term goal of mine and stepping into it felt like a dream come true.”
Holly Bell

Holly graduated in 2025 with a degree in Sports Management. She now works in Business Development Support at Lancashire Cricket Club.
“UA92 was so much more than just lectures and work, it was a journey of growth, challenges and unforgettable memories with amazing people. Before I joined UA92, I never would have believed I’d go to uni, let alone achieved a first in my degree. Throughout my UA92 journey, I had the opportunity to grow both academically and professionally, from publishing the UA92 Ignition Magazine, to presenting the first Women In Sport conference and gaining practical experience through an internship over the summer at Lancashire Cricket Club. When I completed my studies, I secured a role as at Lancashire Cricket Club as a Junior Conference and Events Coordinator, before being promoted to Business Development Support. A personal highlight was winning Lancashire Cricket Club’s Rising Star of the Year Award at the end of 2025!”
Huma Asghar Baksh

When I graduated, I went on to work as a Marketing and Business Development Executive at Gately, one of UA92’s partners. Now I work as a Marketing Executive at Leigh Day. Looking back now, I realise I’ve come such a long way. I have so much more confidence now and I overcame my fear of public speaking. I have clear goals and I know what I want to achieve. I would say to anyone considering coming to UA92, you can do it! Even if you doubt yourself in the beginning, there is so much help and support available. It’s the best place to study in Manchester!”
Jack Ingleby

Jack graduated from UA92 in 2023, with a degree in Sports Journalism.

Since graduating, I’ve gone on to work for Buzz 16, the production company behind The Overlap, progressing through the company in various different production roles. Now, I work as an Assistant Producer at Hungry Bear Media, working on live coverage of the NFL”
Joseph Tucker
BA (Hons) Sports Management
Joseph studied Sports Management at UA92, graduating in 2024. He now works as a Senior Ticketing Operations Executive for the Bristol Sport Group, covering Bristol City FC, Bristol Bears Rugby and Bristol Flyers.
“I come from a small town in the South West, where opportunities in sport are few & far between. The three years I spent with UA92 were life-changing and equipped me with the skills & experience to hit the ground running.
During my time there, I worked 3 internships, got to the national finals of a business competition and helped shape a professional footballs club policy. If it wasn’t for the tremendous resources, support & opportunities for growth at UA92 I would not be in the position I’m in today.
Still over a year on from my departure, I don’t go a day without thinking about how grateful I am to be on this journey and that UA92 put me on the right track.”
Katie Powl
BSc (Hons) Computer Science
Katie studied Computer Science at UA92, graduating in 2025. She now works as a Technology Consulting Graduate at KPMG.
“UA92 allowed me to explore new things and not only develop my professional skills but personally too.
During my studies, the 92 programme and constant support helped improve my confidence and push outside my comfort zone. New experiences included becoming social media and comms officer for women’s football and becoming a qualified referee through the help of Sport92 and becoming the GetUActive Coordinator.
Professionally, opportunities such as Microsoft hackathons, presenting my final project in the auditorium and guest lectures and insight days from the within the industry itself benefitted me so much and still does in my role as a Technology Consultant with one of UA92’s partners KPMG.”
Keshap Bajgai
BSc (Hons) Sports and Exercise Science
Keshap is a Hospitality and Sales Executive at Lancashire Cricket Club, after graduating from UA92 in 2025 with a degree in Sports and Exercise Science.
“My time at UA92 was amazing and was filled with so many different opportunities, such as my internship at Lancashire Cricket within the Commercial Partnerships and Events team. The experience taught me so much about communication and organisation, and I was amazed at just how much happens behind the scenes in a sports club.”
Kieran O’Connor
BA (Hons) Journalism
Kieran currently works as a Business Journalist at SBC, writing about Sports Business and the payments landscape.
“During my time at UA92, I honed my skills in multimedia storytelling, which has been invaluable in my professional journey. The person I was when I graduated was ambitious and eager to make an impact. Now, I’m not only experienced, but also committed to continuous learning and growth, striving to apply the lessons in resilience from UA92 every day.”
Louie Kennedy
BA (Hons) Sports Journalism
Louie graduated from UA92 in 2025 with a degree in Sports Journalism, before going on to secure a role as a Social Media Manager at Greater Manchester Wellbeing Series, whilst studying for his NCTJ, continuing to build on the foundation UA92 helped him create.
“My journey into higher education wasn’t something I always imagined for myself. After studying at Pendleton College, I went on to study Sports Journalism at UA92, a decision that completely changed my confidence, mindset, and ambitions.
When I first arrived at UA92, I was quiet, shy, and hesitant to put myself forward. Over time, the supportive and personal environment helped me grow, not just academically, but personally. UA92 gave me the space to find my voice, build confidence, and believe in myself. Along the way, I gained hands-on experience, formed lifelong friendships, and created memories I’ll always look back on, both inside and outside the classroom.
I chose UA92 because it felt different to a traditional university. The close support from lecturers, the industry insight from partners, and the emphasis on real-world experience prepared me for life beyond education and gave me the confidence to take the next step.
Looking back, I’m proud of how far I’ve come, from someone who once doubted whether university was for them, to someone ready for the next chapter. My journey is just getting started, and I’m excited to see where it leads next.”
Luke Stephen

As part of his Masters, he is a Student Cardiac Physiologist on the Scientific Training Programme (STP) at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, where he is training to deliver expert cardiac diagnostic services.
“My time studying Sport and Exercise Science at UA92 played a significant role in preparing me for my current role as a Cardiac Physiologist. The high-quality facilities, alongside the expertise and support of the lecturers and staff, helped me grow both academically and professionally. The strong focus on practical, hands-on learning allowed me to confidently apply theory to real-world and clinical settings, making the transition into healthcare feel natural and well supported”
Marley Lomas
BA (Hons) Sports Media and Communications
Marley graduated from UA92 in 2025 with a degree in Sports Media and Communications. He now works as a Junior Producer at adi.tv, where he works with Heart of Midlothian (Hearts), producing content for the big screen at their stadium, Tynecastle Park.
“After studying Media at Warrington and Vale Royal College, I went on to study Sports Media & Communications at UA92 and having now graduated, I can now say, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. From growing as a person inside and outside of the classroom, gaining real industry insight, making amazing friends and having so many opportunities and much more.
Some of my favourite memories from my time at UA92 include graduating, of course, but also the hands-on experience I gained at Salford City Football Club as a Camera Operator, and at Trafford FC as a Media and Marketing Officer. Achieving 89% in one of my third-year modules was another standout moment.
Shortly after graduating, I secured my current role as a Junior Producer at adi.tv, where I produce matchday content for one of their clients, Heart of Midlothian (Hearts). This content is shown on the big screens at their home stadium, Tynecastle Park. I’m really enjoying the role and continuing to grow in the media industry.
None of this would have been possible without UA92. What I’ve learned over the past three years has definitely helped prepare for the industry, building my confidence, experience and willingness to aim for what I want.”
Matt Richards

Matt is now an Analyst at 3vrm, helping organisations to manage risk through their 3rd party supply chain and vendor relationships.
“I was told at a young age that I wasn’t “academic”, I dropped out of college due to lack of interest, and then made a living talking. I left a job I was pretty good at to go and do something completely different and study Computer Science at UA92. Computer science was something I wanted to do, and maybe equally as important, I wanted to PROVE that I could do. I did alright on that final point in the end!?”

Not only did it give me a fantastic insight into the media industry through the range of hands-on modules and projects – from creating online magazines and interactive documentaries to mock-up adverts and fashion sustainability marketing campaigns, but it also brought me on as a person massively. And to think that now I have the privilege of working for UA92 and the opportunity to give back is something I’m absolutely over the moon about. However, I decided to apply and stick to it because there was something about UA92’s deliberately different approach that I really liked – and it turned out to be the best decision I ever made! During my time at UA92 I had so many opportunities, such as placements with Manchester Storm, Salford Red Devils and Swinton Rugby club, presenting at the Lancaster International Conference, and even speaking on fitness podcasts.”

Rachael graduated from UA92 in 2025 with a degree in Sports Management. She now works at Manchester United as an E-Commerce Customer Service and Trading Executive.
“UA92 made it possible for me to be a parent while completing my degree which was incredibly important to me. The flexible and supportive approach meant I didn’t have to choose between my family and my future. During my time at UA92 I gained valuable hands on experience within the football industry which helped me secure my dream career. One standout moment was working on a live project with Salford City which led to a permanent role with the club alongside my studies in ticketing and retail. Being involved on matchdays gave me real insight into how football clubs operate and how important the fan experience is.
After graduating from UA92 I secured a role at Everton FC as a Premium Relationship Executive where I supported premium clients and assisted with the opening of the new stadium. This led to my current role at Manchester United as an E Commerce Customer Service and Trading Executive. Some of my proudest moments include winning the league with the women’s football team and hosting the Women in Sports Leadership Conference.”

BA (Hons) Business Management
Somerset works as a Paid Social Junior Partner at Open Partners, after graduating from UA92 in 2025 with a first class degree in Business Management.

I had the privilege of being the first president of Ignition, where I worked on exciting projects for brands like Salford City and helped create the university’s first ever Business magazine.
During my two years of study, the support from my lecturers was incredible. I was honoured to be named Business Student of the Year, which truly felt like a reflection of all the hard work I put in, including achieving a dissertation score of 92 and one of the highest overall grades in my cohort.
In my career I started as a Digital Paid Media Assistant whilst studying, thanks to the incredible coaching support provided by the university.
