ROLE TITLE: Course Leader – World of Media
CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent / Fixed Term – TBC
HOURS: Full-time (37.5 per week)
SALARY: £47,000 – £52,000 per annum DOE

UA92 are looking for a Course Leader for our Media Department.The role willtake a lead on managing and developingthe World of Media courses, in collaboration with the relevant other leaders and UA92 departments. The post-holder will work with other Course Leaders / a Head of Department to bring to life our deliberatelydifferent educationofferingacross teaching, learning and assessments.
About the role
The Course Leader is responsible forensuringstudents receive a high-quality and meaningful learning experience through teaching, assessment, curriculum development, and personalised learner support. A key aspect of the role is working closely with industry and employer partners to keep the curriculum. You will also provide course leadership to specific programmes and linemanageateam of academic staff.
What you’ll do
- Lead and support others in the design and development of new courses/modules.
- Work closely with Senior Academic Team to design and develop a sector leading curriculum
- Ensure provision of high quality and engaging learning, assessment and feedback.
- Ensure high levels of student performance, progression and retention.
- Ensure active engagement in all necessary academic processes and quality assurance and enhancement activities.
- Contribution to the continuous improvement of the student experience and/or lead courses/modules effectively including adopting a responsive approach to students.
What we are looking for:
- A Masters qualification in Media and/or Journalism or (if from a professional practice background) an Honours degree plus professional experience and/or qualifications equivalent to Masters.
- A relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification/experience in areas covered by the Media or Journalism.
- Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education, Fellowship of the HEA or an equivalent teaching qualification or willingness to acquire a teaching qualification and HEA membership (if not already held).
- Academic and professional credibility in a relevant subject area.
- Evidence of successfully supporting student development, learning and attainment through student centric approaches to subject delivery and assessment.
- Evidence of success in teaching in Higher Education or proven ability to do so.Able to deliver across a broad programme area with specialist knowledge to facilitate advanced study in specific subjects.
