Our BSc (Hons) Accounting and Business Management degree gives you the best of both worlds. You will study a variety of accountancy and business modules. This will equip you with a diverse range of knowledge and skills, giving you the confidence to provide business or financial advice to a variety of organisations.

Module 1 - Contemporary Business Environment

You will be introduced to the contemporary business environment and foster a practical understanding of the commercial opportunities and challenges facing businesses.

Module 2 - Principles of Financial and Management Accounting

You will get to grips with the fundamental concepts within Financial and Management Accounting. Examining methods and approaches used by accountants and how the information is used to influence business decisions.

Module 3 - Managing in the Digital World

You will delve into the core concepts in organisational behaviour and contemporary management theory.

Module 4 - Data and Decision Making

You will be introduced to a range of approaches used in analysing business data. This includes predictive analytics, regression analysis, time-series analysis, big data, and machine learning.

Module 1 - Managing Risk and Performance

You will build on your knowledge of management accounting from level 4 and get an insight into the core issues in managing risk and business performance from a financial viewpoint.

Module 2 - Marketing and Digitalisation

Get to grips with contemporary marketing management, understanding consumer and organisational purchasing behaviour. You will also explore the principal aspects of the marketing function, including issues of product design, distribution, pricing and promotion, with a focus on marketing in a digital environment.

Module 3 - Financial Management and FinTech

You will build on your knowledge of financial accounting from level 4 and develop the skills to enable you to exercise professional judgment within a financial setting.

Module 4 - Entrepreneurship and Innovation

You’ll gain an in-depth understanding of the nature and role of innovation in businesses. With a focus on understanding the ways in which businesses can foster an entrepreneurial and innovative culture to deliver value to consumers and society.

Module 1 - Strategy and Ethical Leadership

You will explore how businesses develop their strategic positioning and implement strategic plans to deliver this.

Module 2 - Technology and Business Model Innovation

Explore how emergent technologies are driving fundamental change across multiple business sectors. Specifically, how digital technologies, ranging from AI to cryptocurrency, are disrupting sectors and generating innovative new business models.

Module 3 - Sustainable Financing

Analyse the two dimensions of finance and sustainability. Explore how businesses raise and manage finance in order to deliver a sustainable financial future and how long-term investments in sustainable infrastructure, such as renewable energy, carbon capture and waste recycling, can be financed.

Module 4 - Business Challenge

You will use your knowledge and skills to tackle a live case study from one of our business partners.

What is the 92 Programme?

Alongside your subject modules, you will complete the 92 Programme.

Engaging with the 92 Programme is a requirement for all students and will count towards your overall grade.

In each block, you will take part in a number of Character and Personal Development focus days. During these focus days, you will complete activities designed to boost your mindset, develop your skillset and get you set for future career success.

Throughout the 92 Programme, you will develop skills in self-reflection and awareness, wellness and resilience and professionalism and employability, as well as upskill in different areas.

How is the 92 Programme assessed?

You will produce a learning journal that will document your experiences. This will be submitted at the end of each academic year (or level of study) to assess whether you have met the required standard to pass the module.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The standard entry requirements for the BSc (Hons) Accounting and Business Management course is 104 UCAS points.* However, each application is assessed on an individual basis, taking into consideration a wide range of factors. Depending on your personal circumstances, and in line with our  Contextual Admissions Policy, your application may still be considered if you have less than 104 UCAS Points. Alternatively, we have other courses that we can offer. NON-TRADITONAL

Some qualifications do not carry UCAS Tariff points but may still be considered. We take into account a range of qualifications and work/life experience that can demonstrate your ability to succeed on the course. Each application is assessed on an individual basis, taking into consideration a wide range of factors.

INTERNATIONAL

International Baccalaureat 

Pass the IB Diploma with minimum 28 points overall, with 14 points from Higher Level Subjects.

English Language Requirements

In addition to meeting the academic criteria, if your first language isn’t English, you may be asked for a recognised English language qualification. This is especially important if you are not a national of a majority English speaking country or you haven’t completed a degree in English. If you are an international student, in order to obtain a student visa, you will be required to demonstrate that you have the correct level of English language competency to study in the UK.
