Journey to Uni Webinars: Business

10 Things to Know Before the UCAS Equal Considerations Deadline

BACK

The UCAS Equal Considerations Deadline is just around the corner, so we’ve pulled together some helpful tips, stories and links, to make sure that you feel confident and in control throughout the whole process.

1. Find your motivation

Every success story starts with a bold move or brave decision. So, don’t be afraid to break tradition, do things your way or change direction.

Need some inspiration? Hear from UA92 students on their own unique Road to Greatness.

2. Know your key dates

Deadlines matter, so stay ahead and stay in control. Check the UCAS timeline and add these dates to your calendar to make sure your journey to uni stays on track.

3. Get real about uni life

Wondering what being a uni student is really like? Honest insights from current students can help you picture your future.

If you have any specific questions, why not chat directly to our students here.

4. Set your goals for the year

Start 2026 off strong by setting clear, achievable goals. This can make your uni journey feel way less overwhelming and it gives you a chance to look back on everything you’ve achieved at the end of the year.

Try using the Goal Pyramid Method. You start with putting your big overall goal at the top of the pyramid. Then move to the bottom with small and achievable steps that you can take straight away. Each tier of the pyramid should move you closer to achieving your end goal at the top of the pyramid.

Top tip: make all your goals SMART goals so they are easier to track.

5. Smash your personal statement

Still wrestling with that personal statement? In this podcast, Josh and Lucy answer some of the most common questions about personal statements and talk you through the recent changes to personal statements, so you can feel confident when it’s time to hit submit.

6. Think about your career now

At UA92, your career journey begins from day one. We work with industry leaders on everything from co-designing curriculum , to mentoring, guest lectures and work experience, making sure you make the connections that matter.

Check out our Altrincham FC takeover, where 17 students took over the primary roles of the club for a match day, managing everything from ticketing to commentary.

UA92’s Alumni Network includes graduates working at organisations like Manchester United, KPMG, Lancashire Cricket Club, Sedulo, McCann, Relentless, CityPress, Gately and many more.

In this video, Lucy, Sam, Rosie and Taryn share what they’ve been up to since graduating, and what they miss most about life as a UA92 student.

7. Prioritise your wellbeing

The lead up to the UCAS deadline can be stressful, and we know how important it is to look after your wellbeing, especially over the winter months.

Here are some simple ways to stay balanced and focused.

8. Picture your day-to-day

Think about what your routine will look like whilst you’re studying. UA92’s fixed morning (AM) and afternoon (PM) timetable means you can better plan your day-to-day. Sports Journalism student Harvey gives you the inside scoop on how being an AM student helps him fit uni around his life. From chores to the gym and other hobbies, your fixed timetable means you’re in control.

9. Understand student finance

Student finance isn’t as complicated as it looks. Our Acting Head of Admissions, Josh, has busted some of the most common myths in this guide.

10. Use AI the right way

Whether you use ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or Google Gemini, AI can be a helpful tool when preparing your UCAS application. However, your Personal Statement should be exactly that – personal. Make sure your own experiences and journey are at the centre and use AI ethically to avoid any risk of being flagged for cheating. Check out our guide for tips on using AI the right way.
