World of Sport Final Project Showcase

BACK

Level 6 Sport students signed off their studies in style, presenting their final projects to fellow students, staff and industry partners. As they reach the last chapter of their UA92 journey, these showcase events are all about celebrating the creativity, curiosity and professionalism that makes our World of Sport so special.

From sport performance and PE to strength and conditioning, physical activity and health, the range of topics really showed the passion our students bring to what they do. It’s been amazing to see how much they’ve grown during their time at UA92, and we can’t wait to see what they go on to achieve next in their careers in sport.

Here’s a snapshot of just some of the fascinating research explored:

An exploration of the barriers and facilitators affecting the participation and inclusion of disabled coaches within able-bodied sport

“My dissertation focused on the lived experiences of disabled coaches working within able-bodied sport as I noticed throughout my time studying this was an area with little research. Using qualitative research methods and frameworks including Bronfenbrenner’s socio-ecological model and the social model of disability, I explored how systemic, cultural, and interpersonal factors shape the journeys of disabled practitioners in sport. It’s a space where meaningful research is still needed, and one I intend to keep contributing to. This isn’t just a professional interest, it’s personal. I spent around eight years as a wheelchair basketball player, and that experience gave me a perspective on access, identity, and inclusion that informs everything I do in sport.”
